Worship Come worship with us! Our Sunday service is at 10:00 A.M. and the first best word that describes it is Biblical. All of the words that are said, sung, or chanted come from or are inspired by the Bible. We truly believe that God’s Word is living and active and expect His Word to change us as we engage in worship that is filled with His Word.
The second word that describes our worship is engaged. During the entire hour you will be invited to participate in sharing the Word of God with each other, and in praise of God. No one is put on the spot, but everyone is encouraged to lift up their voice together in faith, praise, prayer, and blessing. This emphasis on worship as the work of the people goes back to when Greek was the common language of commerce and is called ‘liturgy.’
The third word that describes our worship is forgiveness. We all come as sinners to receive what God has given through Jesus: the forgiveness of sins. This is our chief purpose for gathering. Our chief focus in gathering is not on what we bring, but on what God gives to us. We never lose sight of this purpose throughout the hour from beginning to end. The fourth word that describes our worship is traditional. We are not influenced by the cultural winds, but share the same Word as the Apostles and that is found the world over in so many times and places. We have been faithful servants of Christ in Seattle for 130 years and look forward to praising Him for years to come with you! Our worship contains hymns from many centuries and many lands.
