The What time is worship?
Worship is at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and lasts about an hour followed by a Fellowship time downstairs where you can meet and chat with other folks attending. An Adult Bible Forum begins at 11am with lively study and conversation about biblical concepts and sermon follow up.
What should I wear?
At Denny Park Lutheran Church, some people dress formally in dress and suit and tie, some in business casual, and some come very casual. Wear what makes you comfortable!
What is worship like?
The first Sunday of each month is traditional liturgical style, and other Sundays include modified liturgy including traditional hymns accompanied by a rich pipe organ and choir. We use a worship bulletin that has the order of service and Scriptures, so it's easy to follow along and participate.
Will my children be with me during worship?
Worship includes people of all ages, so children are welcome! “Cry Rooms” are available for children, and include chairs, toys, and changing tables so that parents can attend to their children’s needs while enjoying the service.
Should I bring my own Bible?
Scripture verses that are used during worship are included in the bulletin and there are Bibles available to use throughout the sanctuary. You are welcome to bring your own Bible and will also have opportunity to use it for the Adult Bible Study following services.
Is there worship on other days besides Sunday?
At certain times of the year, including the seasons of Lent, Easter and Christmas, there are special worship services on different nights during the week.
Do we have Holy Communion?
Yes, every Sunday! We understand Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) to be a Sacrament, something our Lord Jesus commands us to do, believing he is present with us in bread and wine received for the forgiveness of sins. And, as our brother, Martin Luther, once said: Where there is forgiveness in Christ, there is life and salvation!
