This past Sunday, during the Adult Bible Study, I enjoyed answering questions and giving an update on “The Sanctuary” to those who were here. For those of you who weren’t, here are some of the things that were shared.
First of all, the landscape and irrigation work is finished except for some minor details and the lighting that will be incorporated into the overall lighting of the building. Things look great, but keep in mind that it is all still fairly immature. As it matures over the next several months it will look even better than it does now.
I am beginning to get some first looks at new sign designs for the exterior and something should be finalized soon. The proposal is being finalized for work being done to freshen up the fireside room and contractors are in this week preparing bids for work that will make us more accessible to people with mobility issues.
Photographic displays of life among the churches here are being assembled to be placed in strategic locations where people who are part of what happens here during the week will be able to get a glimpse into what happens here on Sundays. Things are progressing here slowly but steadily and Summer schedules have already been a challenge to coordinate with all of those who are part of the progression of The Sanctuary. Patience is my word for the Summer. Patience and imagining the new life and outreach that these changes are helping to create here in the heart of the city.
